STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
These focal areas and corresponding strategic objectives defines Nest Agro’s work.
To achieve its mission, Nest Agro shall specifically focus on the following thematic areas;

  1. Provision of agriculture and business development consultancy services
    This is done through farm consultancy, with the team of experienced management and highly qualified technical commercial personnel, Nest Agro provide consultancy in Agro production. This consultancy service ranges from trainings to farmer support on all aspects of crop production through ergonomically and technically through horticulture, crop production, agribusiness, crop production etc.
  2. Enhancing access to quality agro-inputs (planting materials, agricultural
    Chemicals & fertilizers) Nest Agro Consulting Limited (NACL) is dedicated to serve farmers on all scales by providing original, reliable and quality Agro inputs. This is done through in delivering optimum quality agro inputs such as chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides), fertilizers, seeds such as beans (iron rich beans that is Naro bean 1, 2, 3 4C, 12C and other varieties that is Nabe 2, 15, 17, 19) Maize seed both highbred and OPVs, Soya beans, Vegetables seeds such as tomatoes, cabbages, egg plants, Nakati, Carrots and many other, seedlings like coffee cuttings, cassava cuttings, sweetpotato vines, eucalyptus cocoa, forage seeds, fruit seedlings and many others, Nest Agro Consulting Limited (NACL) is a committed agro distributor that focusses in producing quality agro inputs in Uganda.
  3. Provision of Livelihood restoration services
    Nest Agro designs appropriate livelihood restoration support, based on the findings of the socio-economic surveys undertaken to measure and quantity livelihood and income that is likely to be impacted by the project. The designed detailed LRP will contain a tailored Entitlements Matrix, consultation activities, implementation arrangements and plans for monitoring and evaluation of livelihood restoration activities. The detailed LRP will be developed simultaneous with the detailed designs and these are shared with all relevant stakeholders and approved by the appropriate authorities. Our LRP includes Introduction and project description, baseline socioeconomic studies, legal and institutional framework, compensation and livelihood restoration, public consultation and grievance procedures, schedule and responsibilities for implementation of the LRP, Costs and Monitoring and evaluation.
  4. Reduction in drudgery and postharvest losses
    Nest Agro Consulting Limited provide storage, transportation, processing, packaging and distribution for selected food commodities, especially staples, to reduce postharvest losses, also provide storage infrastructure, with drying system and a warehouse receipt system such as pics bags, tarpaulins, ganny bags, pallets, we also train a core team of extension staff in post-harvest technologies to provide a reservoir of specialized extension agents in each region for training of producers and other actors along the value chain. We also Implement the Gender and Agricultural Development Strategy (GADS) to facilitate more gender-responsive programme planning and implementation;employ the strategy of affirmative action in the delivery extension services; target and support less privileged women, youth and physically challenged farmers; and support women in processing, value addition and utilization.
  5. Trade in Agricultural food commodities (grain and pulses)
    Nest Agro Consulting Limited (NACL) participates in trade of food system which depends on diverse local food systems. The complex task of these food systems is to feed the country and provide livelihoods to farmers and workers in food related industries and to do this in an environmentally sustainable manner. This foods include beans, maize and cassava flour, sweetpotato and cassava roots, rice etc. Our Agenda sets out to “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture, upon realizing this goal will require a multifaceted approach. To ensure that markets around the country have access to nutritious food. With climate change threatening predictability of harvests and the sustainability of many regional crops, the importance of trade in food commodities may well increase rather than diminish.
